About Us
The Furry Friends Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to providing shelter and love to abandoned, lost or rescued animals in the Barrie community. We provide care to almost 1,000 animals each year - mostly cats and kittens, though we also care for abandoned dogs. We do not euthanize healthy animals for any reason.
We are a registered charity (#882610124), funded by generous donors and supporters and operated completely by dedicated volunteers.
July 1st, 2011, the Furry Friends Animal Shelter moved to 25 Hart Drive, Unit #15, Barrie, Ontario. If you're interested in adopting a furry friend, you'll be able to interact with them and select your perfect companion. Adoptions take place Monday to Friday between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Please call 705-792-4911 to set up an appointment.
For two weeks every month our cats and kittens can also be adopted at PetSmart, 33 Mapleview Drive East, Barrie, Ontario (see map). Adoptions at PetSmart occur when volunteers are onsite: Monday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.,
and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
We are still planning to move to to a permanent shelter, built on land Furry Friends owns. With the new space, we will be able to provide top quality support to even more vulnerable animals. Please donate to this important cause.
