Feel "furrific" as a Furry Friends volunteer
Over the summer, the number of cats and kittens at Furry Friends has climbed. We have no paid staff and depend completely on volunteers to help us care for abandoned and abused animals. We are looking for volunteers to help in three key ways:
a) Volunteer at our shelter (urgently needed). Three-hour shifts are available seven-days-a-week in the morning (approx. 9-noon) and evenings (approx. 6-9). Because we don't have paid staff on site, our shifts are "set" to ensure that lead volunteers are onsite to lock/unlock the doors for the volunteer teams. This role is all about taking care of the 200 cats and kittens in the shelter: cleaning, filling food & water, socializing with them! We are also looking for volunteers who will help us care for sick or injured cats and kittens in our "Med Room". Our insurance requires that all shelter volunteers be at least 16 years of age.
b) Volunteer at the PetSmart adoption centre. Furry Friends is in PetSmart two weeks each month and there are four 3-hour shifts available seven-days-a-week, morning, afternoons and evenings - 9-12, 12-3, 3-6, 6-9). This role focuses on finding homes for our adoption-ready cats and kittens and has a retail/customer service focus. PetSmart requires that volunteers in this role be at least 18 years of age.
c) foster homes (completely flexible)
Note: Full training is provided. To ensure consistent care of the animals, we require volunteers to commit to a set date/time.
