Volunteers
Would you like to volunteer?
Show your compassion for vulnerable animals in a really practical way by donating your time and energy. All aspects of Furry Friends are run by hard-working volunteers. We have different ways you can share your time and talent:
1. Shelter Volunteers
Volunteer at the shelter for 3 hours in the morning to help care for the cats and keep the shelter clean and tidy. There are also 3-hour shifts available in the evenings for volunteers to help clean boxes and spend quiet, gentle grooming time with our cats.
2. PetSmart Adoption Volunteers
Help out at the Adoption Centre in PetSmart (33 Mapleview Drive East) for a 3-hour shift every two weeks (morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available). You will help care for cats and kittens and help them move on to loving homes.
3. Foster ‘Parents'
Become a foster parent and provide loving, in-home care for: kittens; moms with babies; cats recovering from surgeries; or cats waiting for vaccinations. This commitment can last from 2-10 weeks. Furry Friends covers all medical costs and dry food for these animals while in your care.
